Jon Liestøl lives and works in Røyken, a village 35 km west of Oslo. He was teaching arts and crafts for 17 years before he started turning fulltime in 1997. He does mostly gallerywork - thinwalled hollow forms, most of them coloured and enchanted with metal or pigmented epoxy.
Exhibitions: 3 solo exhibitions. Several group exhibitions, some of them juried.
Prizes: "Woodturningdays" - Norway's biggest woodturningshow. 7 first-prizes in a row from 1999. Nordic woodturningseminar 2002. First prize.
Collections: Bought by several public and private collections.
